Description
Tempered glass, also known as toughened glass, is a type of safety glass that is processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal annealed glass. Tempering creates balanced internal stresses. When broken, tempered glass disintegrates into small granular chunks instead of splintering into large jagged shards. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury, making tempered glass a safety glass.
